STN can provide various conditional access (CA) solutions. CA systems offer high level security to the already established or new pay-TV operators when and where required.
STN can help to increase the security of the platform for high-value services in order to prevent piracy and safeguard a customer's revenues by offering various conditional access solutions.
There are two basic approaches that STN uses when offering CA implementations. Either the CAS is based on the customer's side and is fully under the customer's control in which case a secure site-to-site fully encrypted VPN tunnel is established between the CAS and STN's Simulcrypt. Or we can offer our CA system to the customer and manage the subscriber database for the customer. In any case a customer ends up with industry's most advanced suite of Conditional Access (CA) and Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions. This provides robust protection for the customer's branded service(s) and content, over any platform. It is STN's recommendation and observation that advanced security entails a fundamental change to managing conditional access: the STB and the smart card must be paired to prevent piracy. And with our CA system one can do just that and much more.
