Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting Network for Republic of Slovenia supported by STN d.o.o
The commercial start of operation of Slovenia's second national multiplex (DTT Multiplex B) will be September 1st 2010. This is in due time before the analogue shut off (ASO) for Slovenia which is decided by the authorities to be December 1st 2010. The coverage for Multiplex B will reach more than 85% of the households in Slovenia before the analogue shut off takes place. The Multiplex B will carry the programs for the commercial broadcasters, and Multiplex A will continue to carry the programs of RTV Slovenia.
STN d.o.o will provide complete Head End Services and realize the hosting and power supply for Norkring's equipment for DTT multiplex and transmission to the terrestrial antenna(s).Coding standard MPEG-4 (H.264 for video and AAC for audio) will be used in Slovenia for terrestrial digital television broadcasting.

Norkring AS was chosen by the Agency for Post and Electronic Communications (APEK), as the operator of the second digital terrestrial broadcasting network (MUX B) in the area of the Republic of Slovenia, on 19th December 2008. The license is valid for a period of ten years.
